Buccaneers Prepare For Peyton Manning With ‘No-Name’ Secondary
Now that Eric Wright is nestled away at the Adderall Halfway Home, it’s time to take a look at what’s left with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers secondary.
Last Sunday, your starters were E.J. Biggers and Leonard Johnson. But who’s backing them up?
You have LeQuan Lewis, Myron Lewis and Danny Gorrer.
Think any of those names will strike fear in the heart of Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning? Can’t you just picture Manning in the meeting rooms this week out west: “Listen guys, we don’t even need to run the football, let’s just line up four wide on every play and have at it!”
That would make a lot of sense seeing as the Bucs are dead last in the NFL in pass defense.
Fact of life? It’s a Bucs Secondary Life.
Here’s the deal come Sunday at Mile High. If the defensive front line cannot put any pressure on Manning, it could be a long, long afternoon for the Buccaneer defense.
Blitzes? Manning WANTS teams to blitz him.
The Bucs game plan?
They better hope Josh Freeman and the offense have at least 35 points up their sleeves this week.
