Panthers Rebound, Dump Saints 35-27
The New Orleans Saints are now 0-2.
They lost for the second straight week Sunday, dropping a 35-27 decision on the road to the Carolina Panthers.
The Panthers rebounded from their opening loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs held them to 10 yards rushing last week but on Sunday Came Newton rushed for a career-high 71 yards and combined with DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart for 191 yards on the ground.
Newton completed 14-of-20 for 253 yards and a touchdown as the Panthers upset the Saints and evened their record to 1-1.
Drew Brees was sacked and the ensuing fumble led to a Panther touchdown. Brees finished the day with 325 yards in the air, throwing the ball 49 times, completeing 31.
It will be a short week for the Panthers, as they meet the Giants on Thursday night.
